SOMERSETS OWN NEW ORLEANS JAZZ BAND

Burnham's own resident Jazz Band was founded in 1998 when a long standing group of friends decided to join forces again and Bob Reynolds New Society Jazz Band played its first gig in The Old Pier Tavern in Burnham on Sea. There have been a number of changes in the personnel of the band as various people have retired or moved on and you can see the founding members in that first line up in the web site PHOTO GALLERY. The band has its roots in playing New Orleans Jazz, with a happy sound suitable for all occasions, and they play a wide repertoire of traditional jazz, blues, and melodies. The Band is led by local trombone player Bob Reynolds, together with fellow west country musicians who are bound together by a common love and enjoyment of the music they play.
